FOX 4 News Dominates Important Demographic Ratings | News
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2012 May sweeps results are in and WDAF-TV’s FOX 4 News is #1 in most key demographics in most newscasts throughout the day. The results, according to the Nielsen 2012 May sweep ratings measurement period, portray WDAF as the favorite news station among news viewers through the day.
Among Adults 25-54, WDAF-TV ranked #1 with News viewers Monday through Friday (M-F) 4:30 a.m. -10 a.m., 5 p.m. and 9-10 p.m. At 6 p.m., FOX4 News’ is #1 in Men 18-49 and 25-54 demographics as well. And, M-F 10-10:30 p.m. News improved rank to #2 in all key demographics. Plus, after its first year the market’s only M-F 10:30 pm newscast is #2 compared to all 10:30 p.m. program competition.
FOX 4 AM News ranked #1 in all 18-49 and 25-54 demographics during the May 2012 Nielsen survey period. Being #1 in the AM News is nothing new to FOX 4. Winning local viewers during the competitive 7-9 a.m. time period versus the national Morning shows including “Good Morning America,” the “Today Show” and other local News competition at 7 a.m. is the norm for FOX 4.

This ratings success is not confined to the mornings. The 5pm News had impressive share gains year-to-year, especially with 18-49 demographics. Adults 18-49 are up +61% share/+5 share points over May`11. Men 18-49 are up +90 % share/+8 share points and W18-49 increased +35% share/+3 share points. And, FOX 4’s M-F 10 p.m. News doubled M18-49 (+112% share/+5 share points) over May`11, driving A18-49 up +50% share/+3 share points.
