Guitarist & Instructor Tom Pender | Entertainment & Arts

Guitar Instructor Tom Pender  teaches all styles of music and accepts students of all levels.   Tom has taught privately for over 35 years and served as faculty at Longview Community College for 22 years.   As an active professional musician Tom has performed as Lead Guitarist for 11 years in the Kansas City Chiefs Tony DiPardo Pack Band,  performed with various national acts including Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and trumpet player Mark Pender of the Conan O’Brien Show  In addition, Tom has recorded innumerable music projects, radio and TV commercials.  

Tom has a degree in Music Composition from UMKC Conservatory of Music and a degree in Professional Music Performance from  the Musician’s Institute of Technology.  

His teaching style includes fundamentals of music as well as working with students to achieve personal goals through development of a “Wish List” that can contain anything from rock to Bach.

Tom also offers professional music services including live performances, studio, composition and arranging.   Some of Tom's clients include: KC Homes and Gardens, City Of Overland Park, City of North Kansas City to name a few.    In addition, Tom has performed for the Jewel Ball, the BOTAR ball and many other events and venues.
